Mark Karan (guitar & vocals with Bob Weir, RatDog, The Other Ones, The Airplane Family, Live Dead ’69, Tom Constanten Prairie Prince (co-founder of The Tubes, original drummer with Journey, drums with Todd Rundgren, Blue Floyd, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh & Friends, XTC, George Harrison, Chris Isaak, Dick Dale), Kasim Sulton (bass & vocals with Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, Meatloaf, Blue Oyster Cult, Hall & Oates, Cheap Trick & Joan Jett), Jeff Pevar (lead guitar with CSN, David Crosby/CPR, Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Bette Midler, Blue Floyd, Phil Lesh & Friends, Ricki Lee Jones, Marc Cohn), ‘Jessica’ in Atlanta … Tom Petty’s ‘Breakdown’ in Florida … Santana’s (Peter Green composition) ‘Black Magic Woman’ in Mexico City. Not satisfied with laurel resting, they immediately began adding geographic / historically prerogative selections … Grateful Dead’s ‘Dark Star’ in San Francisco … Patti Smith’s (Van Morrison’s actually) ‘Gloria’ in Detroit … The Band’s ‘The Weight’ in Ontario … The Allman Bros. Their version of (David Gilmour ‘discovery’) Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ appeared nightly in their sets, weeks ahead of its ‘Stranger Things’ buoyed resurgence to the top of the charts and worldwide press … making the band appear spookily prescient. The 5-piece, All-Star ensemble, quickly gained a reputation for flipping the ‘Tribute Band’ script on its head, with exploratory performances of iconic and deep cut Pink Floyd classics, David Gilmour-centric and solo compositions, and pulling other surprise classic rock masterpieces out of their hats. There are Pink Floyd tribute bands … and then there is The Gilmour Project. The Gilmour Project returns in 2023 celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s 1973 ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’. The band gained popularity on YouTube with their incredibly detailed recreations of music by artists like Queen, Toto, Black Sabbath and Yes, which have earned the Band Geeks over 30 million views. The Band Geeks began as the house band for the Band Geek podcast, an internet show created by Richie Castellano (Blue Öyster Cult). He has released several critically acclaimed solo albums including “Olias of Sunhillow,” “Song of Seven,” “Animation,” “Three Ships,” “Toltec” and “Survival and Other Stories” and most recently “1000 Hands” to name just a few. Additionally, Anderson co-authored the group's biggest hits, including “I've Seen All Good People,” “Roundabout” and “Owner Of A Lonely Heart.” After 50 years of success in the music business, Jon has worked with many variations of YES, as well as collaborations with Vangelis, Kitaro, Roine Stolt and Jean-Luc Ponty. Jon Anderson is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable voices in music as the lead vocalist and creative force behind YES. Anderson was the author and a major creative influence behind the ground-breaking album “Fragile” as well as the series of epic, complex pieces such as “Awaken,” “Gates of Delirium” and especially “Close to the Edge” which were central to the band's success. It's just weird, but it doesn't really matter.Īnyway, either program are highly recommended if you're in need of a tab reader like this.Legendary YES vocalist/songwriter Jon Anderson will be touring with The Band Geeks Spring 2023! The ensemble will be performing classic YES tracks including “And You and I,” “Starship Trooper,” “Heart of the Sunrise” and epic works like “Close To The Edge,” “The Gates of Delirium,” “Awaken” and others! The bold part happens in guitar pro at times too. But whenever I can use guitar pro I use it. Yeah, I don't think tux guitar is a bad program or anything. I have no idea why this is, but it typically has no effect on the track. If you do get into using GuitarPro or TuxGuitar, though, I will note that often - at least in the case of TuxGuitar - the percussion track may be listed under the instrument section as "Piano 1". It's decidedly "meh", but it's better than nothing. Also, Ultimate Guitar (tabs website) is host to a ton of GuitarPro files, and nowadays the site has its own built-in GP file player. If the free side of the things is the OP's best avenue, though, then I do recommend TuxGuitar, it serves me just fine and can open both guitarpro and powertab file types. Easy to use, and I prefer it to tux guitar, power tab etc. 38 is a snare, 36 is a kick, 45, 43 and 41 are different toms, 49 and 57 are cymbals, 46 is an open hi-hat.
